Jilted lover stalks woman, threatens acid attack

Nagpur: A 23-year-old woman was threatened with by a jilted lover, who has been stalking her for the last three years.
The accused, identified as Mohd Imran Rafiq, was arrested by Tehsil police after the survivor approached the cops and registered a case of threatening and molestation under sections 354, 354d, 506 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to police, the survivor, who is currently studying, was followed by the accused every time she came out of the house since March 2015. The accused tried to talk to her several times, but she refused.

Thereafter, the accused started threatening to kill the survivor or throw acid on her face. Soon, the survivor told her relatives about the harassment. Accordingly, they spoke to Rafiq and told him to stay away from the survivor. Rafiq stayed quite for a few days and stopped following her.

But on Sunday, the accused tried to talk to the survivor and she refused again. Rafiq then thrashed her before threatening to throw acid on her face. The survivor approached Tehsil police station and registered an offence against Rafiq.
