IAF‘s trainer jet crashes in Hyd, pilot safe

HYDERABAD: An Indian Air Force (IAF) trainer aircraft crashed near Yadgirigutta in the Hyderabad city outskirts on Wednesday morning, while the pilot parachuted to the ground safely.

According to police, the incident happened at 11.30 am in Bahupeta village near Alair in Yadgirigutta police limits.

The IAF‘s Kiran trainer aircraft crashed in an open land at the village. The aircraft was completely damaged. Pilot parachuted out and due to hard landing, he sustained a leg fracture, ACP , M Jitender Reddy said.

Police said that the Kiran trainer Aircraft took off from the training facility in the airforce Station, Hakeempet.

After the incident, the injured pilot was airlifted to hospital in an IAF chopper.
